JACK YEH is a partner in Sidley’s Century City office and is a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation practice. Jack is a seasoned trial lawyer who has litigated commercial disputes throughout the country and has significant experience in the litigation and trial of complex business conflicts. He regularly represents both publicly traded companies and emerging businesses in a wide range of industries, including energy, oil and gas, real estate, media and entertainment, advertising and technology. Jack also has deep experience representing clients in government-regulated industries and is a go-to trial lawyer for disputes involving environmental issues, governmental regulations, the California Environmental Quality Act, public contracting, competitive bidding, negotiated procurement, conflicts of interest, political contributions and similar governmental-related matters involving state, regional and local public agencies. In addition, he has litigated commercial disputes at all stages including arbitrations, mediations, court and jury trials and appeals including before the California Court of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court.
Jack’s work has placed him in elite company. Most recently, he was profiled in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2020 list of “Leaders of Influence: Litigators & Trial Lawyers.” He was also named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys” annual list in 2018, 2021, and 2022 which celebrates 40 of the region’s “particularly stellar minority attorneys.” The 2017–2020 editions of Benchmark Litigation also identified Jack as a “Local Litigation Star” and the 2022 edition of Benchmark California designated him a “California Star.” The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association previously called Jack one of its “Best Lawyers under 40” (2002).
Jack is the Diversity & Inclusion co-chair of Sidley’s Greater Los Angeles offices and serves as firmwide co-chair as well as Greater Los Angeles chair of the Recruiting Committee. He also is a member of the Summer Associate Programs Committee. He has been nationally recognized for his leadership in advancing the diversity of the legal profession and for developing successful diversity initiatives and organizational relationships throughout the country. Jack has served on the boards of some of the most prominent civic and public interest organizations in Los Angeles, including Asian Americans Advancing Justice Los Angeles, and has twice received the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association’s President’s Award.
Prior to joining Sidley, Jack was a partner at a Los Angeles-based law firm. He earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and B.A. cum laude from the University of California, San Diego.
