
Biography
CAROLINE SPECK’s practice focuses on energy and infrastructure matters.
Caroline earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2023, where she graduated, magna cum laude, and was recognized as a member of the Order of the Barons, the Order of the Coif, and the Order of Scribes. She holds a B.A. in English (with honors) and Studio Art from Washington and Lee University, where she graduated, cum laude, in 2018.
During law school, Caroline served as president of the Energy and Environmental Law Society (2022–2023) and a Board 60 member of the Houston Law Review (2021–2023). She was also a Legal Writing Fellow (2021–2022) and research assistant from 2022–2023. Caroline also interned with the Railroad Commission of Texas (2021) and The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (2023).
Prior to attending law school, Caroline was awarded the George A. Mahan Award for Creative Writing (2016) and the Studio Art Thesis Award (2018).
Experience
Representative Matters
- New Height Energy in securing equity commitments for its acquisition of producing oil and gas assets in the Midland Basin.
- Glenfarne Group, LLC, a New York- and Texas-based developer and operator of energy and infrastructure assets, in its agreement with the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation to become majority owner and lead developer of Alaska LNG, a project designed to deliver natural gas to Alaska utility companies and Alaska residents.
- OYA Renewables and seven affiliates (collectively, “OYA”) in the sale of substantially all of OYA’s assets under Bankruptcy Code Section 363, including the sale of seven separate asset and development equity packages to four distinct purchasers, in connection with OYA’s Chapter 11 cases before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
- LuminArx Capital Management in its equity financing with AMD of Vultr, the world’s largest privately held cloud infrastructure company, now valued at US$3.5 billion.
