Sidley Represents Glenfarne as Principal Project Counsel on Alaska LNG

January 29, 2026
Sidley is representing Glenfarne Group, LLC as principal project counsel in connection with the Alaska LNG Project, a large-scale, integrated natural gas infrastructure development opening direct U.S. Pacific LNG export capacity while providing Alaska with a new reliable, affordable source of natural gas to replace declining Cook Inlet production. In this role, Sidley is advising on a comprehensive range of project development, commercial, regulatory, and financing matters for a project designed to monetize stranded North Slope natural gas resources through an integrated system that includes gas treatment, pipeline transportation, and liquefaction facilities, positioning Alaska LNG as a strategically important energy and infrastructure initiative. Sidley’s contribution also includes coordinating specialty subject matter and legal workstreams to ensure the provision of a holistic legal framework for project development.

Glenfarne acquired its interest in Alaska LNG in 2025 and has since announced a series of significant development milestones, including multiple development capital raises in 2025 and 2026 and a growing portfolio of commercial, construction, and infrastructure arrangements supporting Phase One of the project. Recent announcements have highlighted strategic partnerships, supply agreements, and in-state gas and infrastructure initiatives as the project advances into early execution activities.

The Sidley team is led and coordinated by partner Tim Chandler (M&A) and senior managing associate Ashley Moulder (Energy and infrastructure), with workstreams also being co-led and supported by partners Brian Bradshaw, Stephen Boone, Herschel Hamner, Kenneth Irvin, Gregory Lavigne, Jeremy Pettit (Energy and Infrastructure), and Angela Richards (Tax); senior counsel Glenn L. Pinkerton and counsel Matthew Walker, and supported by Jeff Kinney, Caroline Speck, Alexandra K. Calabro, Sara Daniel, Caroline Abbott, Alexander Thompson, Tiphaine Kugener, Scott Lindberg, Priya Kareddy, Choa Song, and Harvey Lou (Energy and Infrastructure); Leila Malek, Estella Serrano, and Cameron King (M&A); Kyle Fiet and Nathan Burkes (Commercial Litigation and Disputes); and Arash Dashtgard (Banking, Payments and Fintech).
