JULIA M. CHESTER is a lawyer in the intellectual property practice group of Sidley Austin LLP, Dallas, Texas. Ms. Chester’s practice focuses on brand development, trademark protection, and copyright procurement and enforcement for the global intellectual property portfolios of Fortune 500 companies, high growth ventures, and start-ups. Ms. Chester has experience in all aspects of U.S. and international trademark law including international cross-border transactions, enforcement, prosecution and opposition of trademarks; social media, cybersquatting and the Internet; recovering trademark domain names through Uniform Dispute Resolution Proceedings (UDRP); global management of intellectual property counsel; IP transactions due diligence analysis, transfers and securitization; IP licensing; technology outsourcing agreements; and U.S. Customs enforcement for the seizure of infringing imports. Ms. Chester also has extensive experience in connection with strategies for acquisition, ownership, management and enforcement of copyrights, entertainment rights agreements and publishing agreements.
