ALEX DOWN’s experience covers a wide range of employment and corporate immigration matters, including both contentious and non-contentious work. He particularly advises on senior executive-level recruitment, team moves, matters relating to transfer of undertakings, sponsorship matters, and immigration compliance.

Prior to joining Sidley in 2021, Alex has worked for a law firm specializing in employment and corporate immigration work. He also worked in the London office of another international law firm, where he focused on employment, pensions, and employee benefits matters.

• Advising STORY3 Capital Partners, the Los Angeles based private equity firm, on the employment aspects of its significant minority investment in Adanola, a leading UK-based athleisure and activewear brand.
• Evri, a portfolio company of funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc., on the employment aspects of its merger with DHL eCommerce, the e-commerce logistics specialist of DHL Group.
• HARMAN International on the international employment aspects of its US$350 Million acquisition of Masimo Corporation’s Sound United Consumer Audio Business.

• Stonepeak on the employment aspects of its agreement with the AA, the leading provider of roadside assistance services in the UK and a successful insurance business, and the AA’s majority shareholders, TowerBrook Capital Partners and Warburg Pincus. Per the agreement, Stonepeak will invest £450 million in the AA through a combination of common and preferred equity at an enterprise value of approximately £4 billion.
