Takayuki Ono

小野貴之は、米国における社内調査、政府当局対応、クロスボーダー訴訟を中心に実務を行っており、米国司法省（DOJ）、米国証券取引委員会（SEC）などの当局による調査対応に加え、全米の連邦・州裁判所での金融関連訴訟や企業不祥事関連訴訟を幅広く取り扱っている。

不正、汚職、会計不祥事、内部通報事案などに関する特別委員会調査・内部調査を主導し、危機対応やコンプライアンス体制の整備・強化に関する助言も提供している。Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)、False Claims Act などを含む複数法域にまたがる調査案件に従事し、米国内外での調査・当局対応の経験を有している。

訴訟分野では、証券・消費者クラスアクション、独占禁止法関連紛争、製造物責任訴訟など、事案が複雑な訴訟やリスクの高い訴訟を継続的に取り扱っている。また、短期間で集中的に進行する訴訟や、複数拠点・複数タイムゾーンにまたがる体制の下での案件管理にも精通している。

日系企業およびその米国子会社、多国籍企業からの依頼も多く、米国当局対応、訴訟リスク、クロスボーダー紛争に関する助言を継続的に提供している。Sidleyの東京オフィスと連携し、日本企業が直面する米国法務案件を一貫してサポートしている。

Sidley入所前は、国際法律事務所において反競争的行為に関する調査・訴訟を担当していた。また、ジャーナリストとして米国のABC系列ニュース局で調査報道に携わった経験を持ち、調査分析力を培った。なお、FAA（米国連邦航空局）の商業パイロット資格も保有している。

Investigations, Enforcement & Crisis Management

• Representing a global financial services company in connection with a special committee investigation and defending the company in related securities and derivative litigation in federal court in Florida arising from an approximately US$18 billion write-down of an acquired business unit.
• Counseled a Japanese multinational company in crisis management matters and in internal and government investigations concerning allegations of corporate misconduct.
• Led cross-border internal investigations for a global healthcare company involving alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues.
• Conducted a sensitive internal investigation for a major energy company involving allegations concerning a senior executive.
• Advised on an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission involving a public company client of a global accounting firm.
• Counseled a senior executive of a Japanese manufacturing company in multi-agency U.S. investigations involving alleged corporate misconduct.
• Represented a leading healthcare company in a preliminary injunction trial involving antitrust claims brought by the U.S. Department of Justice concerning a proposed transaction.
• Advised clients in a Securities and Exchange Commission whistleblower matter involving allegations against a leading global investment firm.
• Handled civil investigative demands and regulatory inquiries in connection with antitrust matters involving major multinational companies.

High-Stakes Civil Disputes

• Representing a Japanese automaker in multidistrict litigation involving alleged defects in airbag control units and seatbelt systems.
• Representing a global financial institution in separate False Claims Act actions filed on behalf of the States of New York, Illinois, California, and New Jersey involving allegations related to the bank’s rate setting practices.
• Defended a global consumer health company in litigation involving allegations of securities fraud related to disclosures concerning over-the-counter medicine.
• Litigated matters involving a global telecommunications company concerning False Claims Act issues and disputes related to eligibility and reimbursement under federal funding programs.
• Represented a national retailer in high-stakes litigation involving technology-related commercial disputes with operational and financial implications.
• Defended a medical device sterilization company in litigation involving allegations of exposure to hazardous substances.
• Represented a Fortune 50 retail pharmacy and healthcare company in obtaining dismissal of a tortious interference claim in Delaware, later affirmed by the Delaware Supreme Court.

小野貴之は、Japanese American Bar Association（JABA）のボードメンバーであり、同協会シカゴ地域委員会の設立に関与している。また、Japan America Society of Chicago に所属している。Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms ではアソシエイト・ボード議長を務め、副議長および書記・会計担当を歴任した。さらに、Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago のボードメンバーを務めたほか、National Asian Pacific American Bar Association（NAPABA）の会員でもある。
