RYAN POWER advises on UK and cross-border tax matters. He has experience in private equity, M&A, debt and leveraged finance transactions, structured finance transactions, and management incentive structures.

Ryan trained and qualified as a solicitor in Sidley’s London office, as part of which he spent time on secondment in the tax department at an international private equity fund.

Prior to joining Sidley, Ryan completed the MSc in Taxation at the University of Oxford where he was awarded a distinction.

• Clara Vista Partners and Portman Holdings LLC on the tax aspects of its majority investment in Ipswich Town Football Club.
• The senior lenders on Xpansiv’s acquisition of Evident, the global Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) network provider.
• Pepper Advantage, a leading international credit management and technology firm backed by J.C. Flowers & Co., on the tax aspects of its acquisition of Computer Loan Services.
• SINGU, a leading European provider of commercial real estate management software, on the strategic investment by K1 Investment Management, LLC, and combination with Micad.
• Permira and its portfolio company Neuraxpharm on Neuraxpharm’s successful €925 million term loan B refinancing.
• J.C. Flowers & Co., a private investment firm dedicated to investing in the financial services industry, in its acquisition of Pepper Advantage.
• A leading infrastructure fund in its acquisition of Melita, a fully converged digital infrastructure owner and operator delivering broadband, mobile connectivity and data centre solutions across Malta.
• Ryan Specialty in its acquisition of Innovisk.
• Carlyle on a financing and investment into a UK sponsor-backed financial services business.
• Pictet Alternative Advisors in its acquisition and financing of Technology Services Group Limited.
