ZINA CHATZIDIMITRIADOU advises predominantly life sciences and medtech clients on all aspects of product lifecycle management under UK and EU law. Her prior experience in laboratory research enables her to effectively understand and analyse the complex regulatory environment in which her clients operate and makes her particularly enthusiastic about assisting clients in the life sciences sector.
Zina’s practice covers the pharmaceutical, medical device, medtech, biotechnology, food and cosmetics industries on both advisory and contentious matters.
On the advisory side, Zina has assisted companies on the maximization of the protection and enforcement of their IP regulatory rights, including orphan market exclusivity, regulatory data protection, paediatric rewards, data transparency and product liability, and has also advised on compliance with industry and regulatory practice codes and advertising and promotion practices. Zina has also completed a number of regulatory due diligence projects on corporate transactions.
Zina’s litigation experience includes representing clients before national courts in judicial review proceedings and she is currently involved in representing a global pharmaceutical company in European courts on issues regarding IP rights and competition law.
Prior to joining Sidley, Zina completed a secondment to the in-house legal team of a leading global technology company, which is also active in the healthcare sector, and has since developed a keen interest in the application of AI and machine learning software in healthcare, having often advised clients in this area.
